I noticed someones sheesha pipe in a unit closet (I'm a division manager of a student coop residence) --- although smoking of tobaco product in the building (500$ fine) is not the issue --- cause I have no evidence it is being used in the division... it was left in a "common closet" and it seems like it is just shisha not pot or opium etc... so no real drug issue on this one --- but I noticed they were using an aluminum foil covering overtop... and was wondering if this is some sort of screen (I'm not familiar with shisha practice... I was guessing it was to have smoke go down or something rather then escape through the top.. or to help it burn without direct flame contact.. not sure...
anyway.. I'm wondering if stainless steel would be safer.. cause I read inhaling stuff that is freebased from aluminum foil or heated aluminum is bad for your health - and potentially causes alheimers etc..
the question that arose from this though is... is stainless steel safe to put a flame to.. or will it also melt off and be a health risk? |
the aluminum foil acts as a buffer between the tobacco and the hot coal. the coal does not get hot enough to cause the aluminum to leach vapours. stainless would not work as it does not distribute heat evenly enough and would "burn" the shisha (shisha should slowly roast not scorch, if it scorches it tastes like ) |
