A friend has asked me to come up with an excuse for him to get out of travel recruiting for the soccer team he coaches; he agreed to do it but then they just announced it will be the same day as Askew, which he's no longer OK with. He says that he's used the family card to the point it's used up; and I'm having trouble being a creative liar...
I figure NYTA might have a few tricks up their sleeves; whatcha got?? |

I am not sure of all the circumstances but I hope some of these might be of help..(Some may be offensive to some but I don't mean anything by it)
He needs to fly out of town for a funeral.
He was in an car accident or his car broke down.
He has severe allergies and his medicine makes him drowsy so he can't leave his house.
He caught a highly contagious illness.
His girlfriend is in the hospital.
He is being sued and needs to go consult with a lawyer.
He has a huge flood in his apartment/house and he cannot get ahold of the landlord and there was significant damage to his property.
He needs to wait for a repair man.
His pet was very sick and he has to go put him to sleep so he is very distraught.
He can no longer make ends meet and he is in severe debt and had to go a second job and he already agreed to work at the "other job" that day.
He won a big contest and it is an opportunity that he cannot pass up.
He was robbed and has to go to the Police department to fill out a report and look at some mug shots.
I can keep going for days..... |

**shruggs** i understand its awful to make a commitment and then break it, but things DO happen, and at least its giving them more than a weeks notice. I think any of the (normal) suggestions would suffice...
can it be pushed off/can someone else do it in his place? |
