They basically told me I was crazy if I thought it was coming here by plane.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay to have it shipped? Sea mail would be quite a bit cheaper, so maybe you can check (or get a Dutch speaker to check) the pricing on the Dutch Post website and see how it was sent?

My pipe took about 7 business days to cross the Atlantic. I too, shipped it from Amsterdam. :)

Didn't the shipping company tell you any of this? Every time I ship something significant I know how long it's going to take, how it's going to get there and I get a tracking number. :conf:

I didn't get to keep any paperwork beyond my receipt - it was shipped through the store I bought it from, but it wasn't as if it was some dicey transaction at a seedy shop in Amsterdam. They're well known, and have shipped loads of glass, and basically had it packed and labeled for shipment by the time I had finished filling out all the paperwork (Shipping info, shipping insurance paperwork, etc.).

I paid way, way too much to have it shipped. €15 shipping, €10 insurance.

In Amsterdam Centrum, €15 doesn't go very far. ;)

Edit: And there was no way I was not insuring a $250 piece of glass.

:wtf: to anyone who wouldn't.

:haha: True. But, international shipping isn't THAT expensive, unless you go for express post or something.

Lol, yeah ok, I see your point.

Well, with a bit of luck, you'll get it by Summer? :clown: :p

just for future reference rob, ANYTIME you want to ship something over seas, MAKE SURE to send and label it airmail. if you do not, it will always go via boat. and last time i sent something overseas, to oz, i spent around $25. so 15 euros is similar unless shipping costs are higher.
