Skipper, all these New York guys like Richie Santana and Peter Bailey have dropped the tribal to play minimal and techno now.
Calderone was one of the first of the tribal DJs to make the transition. At the WMC Evolve pool party last year I noticed he was playing a very little tribal and just playing minimal and techno.
I've been introduced to a slew of new artists that are minimal and techno DJs because of what Victor has been playing in the last year. I'm solely a house guy, and people like RadioSlave, Shlomi Aber, Marc Antona, Chris Liebing, Samuel L Session, Alex Dolby, Maskio, etc that are mainstays in your scene, but new to me.
But Victor still plays the same, he builds it up and uses accapellas and stuff to make it his own unique sound. His Evolve parties at Stereo are heaven...
Check out this clip too and other ones from WMC and you will see the minimal and tech beatdown I experienced

Sounds nothing like the song in the vid.
The actual song name is Ilario alicante & Delete- Going Straight to Caracas , if you go to Delete's myspace you will see he has a richie hawtin vid where hes playing the song and its the same one as in the vid posted here.
