:wtf: What the kind of job is this? |
Government stuff. They wanna know all sorts of random about me. ie. "List two neighbors at your current location that you know" I don't know any of my neighbors (I've talked to one neighbor, once (twice if you count the time I said "don't worry about it" when he shot me with snow from his snow blower from across the street)). I moved here in the fall and no one hangs out outside in the winter. Plus my house is on a corner with an alley behind me, and the house next door is for sale. I'm going to call them and ask if they'd rather have the info of the neighbors I lived next to for 15 years, as opposed to 4 or 5 months. |

dude, with honesty - there's no chance you'll get the job. Gov't WILL do polygraph on yo ass. I actually had a freind of mine interview for gov't job, they asked him all kinds of sick like:
1. Did you ever have a homosexual experience
2. were you ever mollested
3. did you ever have sex with minors
4. did you ever have sex with animals
5. did you ever sell drugs
6. did you ever commit crime you weren't charged with?
ed up thing is that they can ask you ANY kind of question. if you somehow manage past the lie detector and still end up getting a job, if they find out any lies later they can charge you with some perjury or other crap.
my other friend is a contractor for the navy - they interviewed all his neighbors from today and before, full background check, etc.
YOU DON'T WANT A GOV'T JOB. |

And they actually have the right to ask you about that ? Like ANYTHING that happens outside of your job/workplace is any of their business at all?

govt jobs are ok if they dont require any sort of clearance. if they dont require clearance, they dont require what your needing. |

I guess its like a "if you want the job you'll tell us" sort of thing. I mean I dont HAVE to tell them, but they don't HAVE to give me the job.
They also wanna know if I have asthma. IM ED. |

lol, you should see the stuff they ask when you apply for citizenship there in the US... its much the same, stupidly I was actually honest about it all and the reasons why.
As a result, it was heartily rejected, in fact I don't even qualify for a work visa there anymore :nervous: |

If this is a govt background check - your employer will not see it. You don't necessarily need true neighbors - but people who can verify you lived and worked where you stated. And as for the mary jane question - answer honestly. It could come back to bite you in the ass after hiring and when they find out you lied - you would get canned asap.
And before you ask - yes I went through the exact same thing not too long ago. |
