Wow. I literally started crying as I watched this.

Did y'all watch the whole thing? Barely could but,

The cultural commentary of this video was amazing!

Wow, I still feel like crying because of how bad it was.

What you guys see here is a small piece of the coming infusion of EDM into Hip Hop renaissance. This isnt a great example as its cheesey and abusive to the brain, but some amazing things can be done in the future if Hip Hop artists dig deep for quality EDM samples, quite frankly im surprised Hip Hop has managed to ignore EDM sample use at a bigger scale for this long. But I think its because Hip Hop producers probably see EDM music as "teh ghey", so its been taboo to use EDM inspired sounds, but thats slowly starting to change.

If EDM can expand into Hip Hop, thats a massive amount of more potential EDM listeners in the future. They will start with the cheesey stuff and then in a few short years will be rubbing shoulders with the hardcores at the Avalon's Vanguard's and when the growth happens other big venues. At the end of the day its simply music evolving and the cultures shifting and cross breeding.

not only is this bad, the idea of the song is taken from a 16 year old kid....

This was an entrance to the micromix contest of june last year I happened to come across on youtube. The opening song was Better off alone mixed with the vocals of Pop, Lock and Drop it.

he took the video down, but someone bookmarked the tracklist here (about 4 entries down): http://hk.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=9FE79CC26ACE720A

1) Kirk Franklin - Interlude #2
2) Better Off Alone - Alice Deejay
3) Huey - Pop, Lock & Drop It

4) The Way I Are - Timbaland ft. Keri Hilson and D.O.E.
5) Sweet Escape - Gwen Stefani ft. Akon (A Capella)
6) Smack That - Akon ft. Eminem (Instrumental)
7) Toma - Pitbull ft. Lil' Jon (A Capella)
8) SexyBack - Justin Timberlake (A Capella)
9) Promiscuous - Nelly Fertado (Instrumental)
10) Dangerous - Ying Yang Twins (A Capella)
11) My Love - Justin Timberlake ft. T.I.
12) Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) - Eurythmics

that may not be a good thing!

personally, I like my EDM the way it is...

1) - not for everyone... thank god
2) - people actually there for the music
3) - slightly underground
4) - festivals & events across the globe for the true enthusiasts
5) - good friends, good times, good music

i cant see a great influx of quality people from this merger, its bad enuff when i see first time 30-something "e-tards" mackin down on trannys @ Avalon. to get the thuggish crowd w/all the drama that it brings will be the downfall.

i mightve went off on a tangent, but that's the first thing that comes to mind. drama, bad vibe, & fronting arent things that i would wanna associate w/EDM
