Jeez, Ive been browsing this board for 5 years now, but it seems that only over the last year or so a LOT of whiny little bitches seemed to erupt. JUST LISTEN TO THE ING MUSIC AND ENJOY IT! You dont like it? Fine! I highly doubt many people wanna hear you bitch about it though, saying how "generic" or "crappy" it is. Welcome to 2008, trance is slowly dying and all the once 'great artists' are starting to 'sell out' because of it, but at the same time new ones are evolving and keeping it alive. Style is changing, they are just being smart and moving to what the majority of the people want to listen. I doubt that if any of you were famous, even a little bit, you wouldn't move onto the bigger crowds. It'd be like staying in a small gig when you have the opportunity to get signed to a major record company.
Music isnt always about the "skill" or "effort" it took to produce it, but rather what catches people's ear and delivers a groove that gets locked inside your mind. I dunno, someone once told me its always better to be really good at something easy to play rather than suck at something difficult. Frankly, I listen to alot of on here that people think is great, because it sounds original. All I hear is repetitive originality with little to no groove.
Blah, I wish people could appreciate the artist for what theyve done in the past and just move on. |

Elements of Life was one of those albums in which virtually each track could benefit from a solid remix.
The content on that album felt pretty drab, undercooked, and uninvigorating. Perhaps this remix package will prove a useful shot in the arm. All in all, and in my perspective, a good move on his part. |

I dont recall me ever saying Armin or Tiesto are great. Don't get me wrong, they have some incredible tracks and don't even try denying that fact. I personally think they're a bit overrated myself, but noway do I dare say that they're garbage or suck. I was simply stating in general, some people just need to grow up and appreciate the MUSIC and if they don't want to appreciate it, least they can do is keep there immature comments to themselves. Youre not better than Armin or even close to Tiesto (I'm referring to everyone on this board), so seriously, just leave out your amateur criticism.
And for the record, anyone who doesnt produce is a fanboy in my book. If you dont make the music, youre obviously just a fan. Idk exactly what the difference is between "fan" and "fanboy", but I don't find being a fan as an insult, especially since I know how to write music and actually intend on producing when I have the funds. On top of that Ive been into EDM for 12 years, being inspired by Astral in kindergarten.
I don't judge the artist, I judge what comes out of them and know exactly what they're capable of based on what they've made. I don't criticize Tiesto when he releases a completely different style, because I know what the man is capable of.
edit: And sorry for ranting. I don't mean to start a fight, I just really love music. I hate seeing artists being criticized by people who still listen to there music or have a history of being a fan of the artist at one point, yet talking crap about them as if they wanna fit in now or something. It's just a bit hypocritical no? It's like hearing those people that judge genre's and say trance sucks, when they never even gave it a chance because they heard some Cascada song on the radio. |
