| So there was actually a time when you could hand in papers late but still pass a course? Wows. |

Well people get away with it all the time in my program, even though they're not supposed to. They lose marks, obviously.
Handing in late is not a issue with me, but the couple times I've done it have been enough to still weigh on me, lol.
It's really just the leaving it till last minute I was talking about.
Annnnnnnnnnnd if that was more of your sarcasm then you. |

I'm currently (as in, right now) writing a paper which was due today. I'll receive a 3% grade deduction for being one day late. I'm usually never late with anything but I thought 3% was no big deal so I procrastinated.
Edit: note that I always procrastinated, but this time I procrastinated even more. |

Wow 3%? Our minimum is 5%...that is, IF teachers decide to go outside of the 0 tolerance policy (which obviously, they do). And even then it's at their discretion how much they want to deduct - it's max 10% per day, and most teachers take that.
I got my only B on a paper because of that. :( |

I've really pulled up my socks this semester and have managed to hand in every paper on time, without having to pull an all-nighter (well ok, maybe once).
I must say it feels fan-ing tastic!
you, school!
Also, in your face, overachievers! I can do just as well as you without having to work as hard! |
Is a 3.1 GPA overachieving? I have never pulled an all-nighter, but I do often finish assignments on the day it's due right up to the 5 minutes before class sometimes. I seem to work better under time pressure.. |

Its a rare occurrence, thats why I took advantage of it. Usually its either zero tolerance (unless you make up some bs convincing excuse) or a letter grade a day. |

Yeah I work better under pressure too..but the course-load for my program is ridiculous, and I was sick of the end of the semester coming, and having 3-4 HUGE papers due, and stressing for 2 weeks trying to make time to get them all done - then worrying whether or not I did my best work.
I've given myself a new rule, that the latest I have to push an assignment is the night before at a decent bed time. I hate losing sleep over school work. |
