How either of those things qualifies as "useless" is beyond me - but will do.

I was trying to provoke people into proving me wrong by naming some of the useful things you've done with philosophy.
I'm talking about YOU, so don't come up with Kant, and also don't come up with you latest essay or the brilliant thought you had last week about something.

So far, unfortunately, nobody has done so.

Not only I posted pics of big titty bitches Saturday night, I highlighted the most important part of the article. Didn't you read it?

Hell, how do you think RJT seduced Myra? She was lost in life, she didn't know what to do, she had left the pancakes burning on the stove, and as tears welled in her eyes, she asked Rob:

"OMG, teh pancaek! what should I do? What is the right thing to do?"

And he said, "Always act according to that maxim whose universality as a law you can at the same time will".

And, as she swooned with delight, he swept her off her feet.

By the way, somebody wrote a musical called "Kiss Me, Kant," in which all of the Kant character's lines are direct quotations from Kant's works:

One useful thing is that it's taught me how to trainspot loaded questions like this from a mile away. There's a good chance that beyond this, however, there is no answer I can give you that will satisfy your requirement for what qualifies as "useful" (at least none you'd acknowledge in public).

So in general I choose not to spend more than a minute replying to people who enjoy engaging in such pedantic and ignorant pursuits. Like I've said countless times before, little kicks for little people.

;)

Edit: Though I guess a second obvious useful factor would be that it apparently places me among a category of people who are likely to make more money than the bulk of other undergraduate majors. So yeah, what exactly have you done other than attempt (and fail miserably) to convey yourself as intelligent on the internet?

As he approaches the years of early manhood the youth begins to make certain distinctions which he did not
make formerly. In the first place, the distinction of sex.
COUNTESS KEYSERLINGK
Oh, my.

I bursted out laughing for no good reason after reading that :p

I've been on TA long enough to recognize a typical pejorative "non-reply" when I get it. Whether it throws a worse light on you or me shall be for others to judge.

Unless someone tries to give a more serious answer to "What useful things does philosophy do?", or posts something hilarious like Lira, I'm outta here.

Believe me, I'm more than OK with all of that.
