Not sure about this DJ! I don't remember seeing is name very often when people make list of who they would like to see and hear in Montreal. I like the fact that it's totally different but I have a lot of other Trance DJ /Producer they I would like to see and that I try to get to play here. But all Trance right now is a huge gamble in Montreal unless you're booking Tiesto, AVB, PVD, SVD, Ferry... I'm not even sure guys like B&J or A&B can even be considered has a sure thing!
Will just have to wait and see.

I agree with you. However, for peoples who follow the Trance scene Gareth Emery is a very good booking. Very nice to see all the effort deploying by the Stereo to bring international Trance DJ at Montreal.

I agree with that. He produce one of the biggest trance hit last year
with LANGE, Lange vs Gareth Emery - Another You Another Me. It suck that
i'm spinning that night in a private party cause for sure I would have
been there.
Well A++++ for the Stereo who's booking new upcoming DJ's. |

Sander van Doorn is in NYC that night but i'll have the chance to see him again sooner than Emery so i'm really thinking about taking the bus up from New York. Can anyone tell me what is the easiest way to get from the bus depot to the club? bus, metro, taxi?? I have no clue. Or if anyone knows easier ways any help would be appreciated. I've never been to Canada so i figure this will be a good introduction for me. See you all at Stereo i hope.

Welcome. :)
Stereo address: 858 St-Catherine East, Montreal.
You can take the metro to Berri-UQAM station (on the Green Line) and then walk to Stereo, it's a 10 min walk. Or just cab it there if you're staying downtown. that's what I do.
See you there. :) |

Stereo is an afterhour, so it opens around 2 AM and starts getting busy around 4-ish..that's when the headliner comes on. And goes on till 8 or 9 AM.
But if you wanna get there early you can always check out Stereobar (which is next door to Stereo) for some pre-drinking.
Stereobar opens at 10 PM and closes at 3 AM. |

There are tons of good places to eat downtown, I'm sure you won't have a hard time finding a good restaurant. For shopping: Check out St-Catherine Street (Les Cours Mont-Royal, Les Ailes De La Mode, Eaton Center etc..) and some cute boutiques and places to chill on St-Laurent Street as well, there are also some charming places to check out in Old Montreal.
As far as a good club to go to on Friday/Saturday..I'd recommend Cherry - 417 Saint Pierre, Old Montreal. Warm atmosphere, nice crowd and most importantly, good music.
Have fun and see you at Stereo. :) |
