ps: you should close 3 of them anyways. ;)
Please be adviced that every credit grantor have their own policy & procedure to provide consumer credits. Its true that having more than 3-4 CC, will affect your score, as already adviced before. Its up to grantors to decided whats too many for the consumer.

If you don't have credit yet. i have a easy way for you to start one. Stop by to one of your fav. retail store for clothing and apply for CC store. Once you recvd the CC from retail store, contact the credit grantors and have them report the cc to all three credit bureau. Not all credit grantor report to all three bureau.

edit: if you have cc already, i can also adviced to have them report your cc to all three bureau for better result of your fico/beacon score. just make sure you limit your self with the inquiries.

Her Sears card brings all the boys from the yard, and she's like, "It's better than yours", she's like, "It's better than yours"... she could teach you, but she'd have to charge.

A debit card can hold a ton of money as well, no need for the credit card.

If a debit card is stolen, you're actually out the money that someone else charges until the investigation is complete. If it's a credit card and illegitimate charges are made, you lose nothing except the distance to your credit limits.

Plus there are usually good rewards, even if they're only 1%, that's still better than savings account rates now.
