i learned something from eddie this year. that kind of music needs the right time and place and crowd for it to work. saw him at fire it up with eddie and friends at suite. i want my $30 back. it was embarassing. he was tearing away doing all the tricks and everything but the magic was just not there. just ringing ears. the place was half empty. he never smiled once, he looked disappointed. he didnt have that perfect groove bpm to keep you moving. he ended his set early.
then, at AM only, he plays almost the same exact tracks in the same order, but he's on fire, everyone is into it. he really did rock it at AM only. |

| Damn that really sucks to hear.... so he played the exact same set twice...? A dj of that caliber should have a variety of tracks spread out for diff nights and play whats right for the atmosphere at that moment imho. |

I dunno man.. Maybe it is because I was wayy tired but SVD and Eddie at AM Only played really euphoric trance, not the stomping hard stuff they are known for.. I really wanted Eddie to bring the pain but it felt like alot of fluff after ATB played.. Marco V on the other hand, good god, that set was destructive... |

really? cause ATB was definitely alot of fluff, but SVD and Eddie ing destroyed that place in my opinion..SVD's set was more trancey, but hey, thats cool! Hey can change it up every once in a while....and then eddie...jesus christ! all i have to say is i will be attending whatever party he plays at next year |

i definitely agree with you about the 1 hour thing...i wouldve loved to see him play for 2 or 3! Serge Devant ed it up pretty nice after Eddie though...his style was hard for sure |

yes and no...a good dj should b able to get 2 people moving if theres 2 people present...it doesnt matter venue or size of crowd...if u have no crowd...play different tracks that make the few people in attendance believe in you |

thats exactly right. dj should have enough variety and be flexible enough to play the tracks that work with a small crowd. i think he just wasnt expecting his gig to have low attendance thus didnt bring his stuff for that kind of crowd. |

+1
I am not into trance either that much. However, I saw Halliwell in Ibiza around the first week of July! WOW
Then you hear all the Brits, "That's Eddie Halliwell, he is a legend" (English Accent)
On the topic of playing the same songs. DJ's in general. Good/bad/mediocre, many play the same tunes in every set they do. I hire many of the same DJ's @ my events in LA. I know my DJ Eddie will always play The Drill and another of my DJ's will always some version of mama say mama sa ooh makoosa. lol |
