Stop, and stop now. | I used to do that. I had this happy hardcore song my friend gave me from a Jinco cd and played it at like 90BPM it was so cold blooded it was not even funny. |

ok here is my theory on DJing
alot of times DJS put forth these really long intro tracks that it takes like five songs just to get to the heavy stuff. If a song is good like revolver or something then that would be diffrent. then they play like a few good songs and play stuff like for seasons in one day. No offense to the dude that made that Tyas mix. or for example a producer may only play all his own stuff and no one elses and not everyone has solid awesome tracks. But I'm certain I could win a spinoff between any of them. I'll bet money on it. |
Either or, you're playing the same every other bedroom trance jock has been playing for years. You're not searching for any new, unfound, good music. You are more of the same, and you typify monotony in the sense of musical repertoire. You just don't have the million dollar marketing crew to polish your balls to a complacent public. |

believe me when I say this: people either want new , or old in shiny packaging. You are offering them neither. Pander to the attention span of the public, and you'll get booked.
I mean seriously, Sean ing Tyas? Really now?
If you continue playing that drivel you'll definitely need shiny packaging. |

i suggest wearing nothing but a thong that looks like an elephant and you can do the helicopter with his trunk
this may limit you to playing in male strip clubs though |

Man seriously, if you want to get famous and stuff, you have to get into producing. Don't expect to be famous and big by just djing, i guess that even innovative, outstanding djs that do crazy mixing stuff by having Ableton and 8 decks playing at the same time don't go big nowadays. There are countless djing that play records and mix, do you expect every single one of those to get famous? Armin got big because he has a long history in production, and even if we like it or not, he produced some legendary tracks like "Blue Fear", "Clear Blue Moon" etc. He didn't get famous just from djing.
You have to make music of your own. And thinking of todays criteria, well, it wouldn't be difficult! Just go produce the new-style flashover-style big-room electro-trance sound and you will go big fast. The steps are easy: Get FL-Studio, make a very big fart sounding bass-line capable of shaking a huge club or event, put some 4 or 8-notes of extra-fat super-saw to play a random melody, the standard trance bit: Umts Umts Umts and hey presto! You have the new anthem! For extra commercial appeal, you can put some vocodered robotic voice with a german accent playing on top repeating a phrase like: "Dis-Is-E-Le-Ctro, Ja"! After doing that you can ofcourse keep your presents and make every other track by using these same sounds ( everyone does it these days!). you can vary the bass and the chords a bit, and/or you can make various phrases with the (can be deep or loose high-pitched) voice (e.g. "Ma-Ster-Bat-Ion-Ha-Ppy-Na-Tion") i tell you you are going to get famous man! Please don't forget us here in TA when you'll go big. |

There is such a DJ, his name is Danny Howells and quite a few people let him mix almost every week. |

I wish they still had dj crews like back in the day. |
