Hey guys :)!
Have anyone seen this new track, Aranel by Soundlift, released by Time2Trance label?
I really like it, it's a very melodical uplifting track, with the essence of the
old-school trance.

What a coincidence, i felt to his myspace page by mistake today, and decided to give a listen. I like it, it has a kind of retro end-of 90s summery, nostalgic lush epic-trance feel and brought to mind tracks from Tilt, Solar Stone, Rapid Eye, Thrillseekers, Qattara etc. I really got some flashbacks with the tune! I really liked the melody of the piano-like synth, it is very sweet and spring-like, and the pads smell of saltwater (ambiquous meaning!). Only bad thing is that whilst it is nice, it really doesn't do anything new e.g., it has the boring useless first two-minutes cliche trance intro, it has the usual fast trance speed and it is totally grooveless, plus the sounds are the typical saw sounds which we've heard countlessss times before. I guess
that this is the sound if one attempts to do the end-of-90s stadium/epic stuff though. The problem is that such tracks with nice ideas tend to get lost in the plethora of today's releases due to their similarity with other tracks and their ultra-limited innovation. Think of the current beautiful melody on a slower and more groundbreaking, innovative and moving version and you surely have an oasis in the desert of today's EDM. So, my advice would be: try to use new sounds and ideas but keep the romantic melodies and feeling. With that in mind, maybe one day we'll get a new refreshing trance sound...despite that it is a good first attempt.
