Anyone own a Wii ?

| Getting a deal for 80£ (about 150$), and I'm sure I'll enjoy Wii sports and Mario and the like, but overall is it worth buying the Wii ? Pros/cons, suggested games etc etc etcetra... |

| just got one. it's great fun and even the basic game of sports is fun with a couple of people. Mario Kart is pretty mint too, just come out. Wii play itself is kinda crappy though. only have those 3 things for it :) |

Yeah, Wii sports is the biggest puller for me, but are there any other half-decent games as well. Single player games for example? |

My roomie has it... I think it sucks arse.
Half the time it doesn't detect your movements, the other half it over detects it. I am glad he bought it and I didn't. I personally would not ever waste my money on a load of crap like the wii. |

Of all the reasons not to buy a Wii, these are not them.
I'd love to hear what games you're playing that "over" and "underdetect" your movements - software is software, regardless of the system.
The Wii has a very small category of "great" games, which is easily the biggest reason not to get one, however the games that are released for it that are good aren't just good, they're unreal.
On the plus side, not only are the quality games that are out for it for the most part solid single player experiences, the multiplayer aspects of them are easily the most fun.
There's really no easy answer to "is it worth it" - in my mind, it has been, even in light of the large number of "cons." |
