The Raiders are going all the way.......

All the way to the top of next years draft!

People still watch basketball?

It's been boring for the last 10 years.

Dwight Howard might make it exciting again, though.

True, ever since MJ retired in 1998, the NBA hasn't been the same.:whip:

ill admit the game has changed alot since MJ left, and prob for the worse. But you can go ahead and blame that on...MJ! He is the one that is mostly at fault for all of these superstars wanting shoe deals and endorsements which has given rise to the "score first" mentality that alot of the kids have when learning the game. Thus you have a bunch of guys that just want to score alot in order to make the big bucks, and it has hurt the team game and the defensive game. Even the audience doesnt like to watch this anymore, evident in the ratings of the spurs/pistons series recently

BUT a Boston/ Laker rivalry will revitalize the NBA, just watch the ratings soar if they meet in the finals

:whip: MJ was 9x NBA All-Defensive First Team Selection (1988-1993, 1996-1998) and also won the defensive player of the year in 1988. He dominated on both ends of the floor.

Put plain and simple, the absence of MJ makes the NBA boring. Kobe is playing GREAT this year, because he is finally grasping the concept of team ball, this makes the Lakers a fun team to watch. They are playing great, I hope they win it all this year!

i'll tell you what happened... we got CHEATED out of a win over you guys in the final seconds at oracle a few weeks back, which killed our momentum into the final stretch. or did you forget already?

MJ was a great defensive player, but that isn the point. And when you hear "wanna be like mike" you dont think of being a lock down defender.

Offensive players make the big money these days, and get the big endorsements, so most young players want to take that route when developing their game.

I agree that alot of the league is boring these days, but without mike and the bulls dynasty the 90's would not have been that great either.IMO the league's basketball style hasnt recovered from the loss of the Bird v magic era and showtime. That was when basketball was in its hayday.

its coming back now, there are alot of young stars, and as long as the big market teams get a hold of some of them its back on the rise
