Alanzo, how does putting the Nord Lead 3 in the input of the Virus work out ? |
I got a Dave Smith Prophet 08 a few days ago that I've hooked up into the Virus inputs. It works pretty well. It doesn't automatically compensate for the input latency (like the Virus synth), but it still works as well as any other sound card. And you can use all the virus effects on the input in real time which is very handy.
It'll be quite handy as I intend on getting a nord lead 3 again and I won't need a new sound card as the Virus acts as a 2nd midi out / audio in. |

| u still only have 1 pair of inputs on the virus eventho usb cames with two stereo channels now/soon. u dont run profet 8 in mono? and i hope u wont do that to nord lead too? |

The Virus TI has a total of three digital stereo outputs, one analog stereo input, and three analog stereo outputs.
In release 2.5.1 the three digital outputs were routed to the DAW as two for the Virus synth and one for the analog input. In release 2.7 you'll be able to configure the third digital output to be either for routing the input (like in 2.5.1) or for the Virus synth. |

As good as any other. Converter snobs are full of it. Once you hit a certain level ($100 or so), they all sound the same. |

actually it's 3 VSTi outputs + 1 input. it just disables the output and intput of the builtin soundcard. |

Yes, it disables the input. So it's either three digital outputs or two digital outputs with one analog input. The analog input is the built-in sound card, isn't it? |

| the virus ti soundcard has analog intputs which can now be disabled too (= 4 vsti stereo channels) |

| I still don't fully get it, but I guess I won't until I can try it myself. One thing I've noticed, though, is that when using Cubase's External Instrument support with the Virus' input, turning up the External Instrument's delay ms makes the Virus go out of sync. |
