Jonas Bering - Can't Stop Loving You [Kompakt]

Release features three tracks: Can't Stop Loving You, Close To Home, and Lincoln Road. All three releases sort of run the gamut of different genres.
Lincoln Road is a bit of a late night stormer with a fun rolling bassline and a sneaky synth that pops up underneath, this one could probably see quite a bit of play.
Close To Home is a bit more on the electro tip...but not quite electro (if that makes sense), something sounds really familiar about it but I can't quite put my finger on it. It has a nostalgic hands in the air late night house feel, but it's a pretty short track clocking in at just under 5 minuets.
Can't Stop Loving You is my favorite on the release simply because of the vocals (I'll take my fancy Armani thank you :o ). I think the vocals are done tastefully and in the same vein as some older Bjork. They are done in the typical Kompakt manner of bridging pop and techno very eloquently.
Great release, I would pick up the whole thing if I had some kind of residency or played more than once every 8.5 months or whatever it is :p |

Also I'd like to say that although I enjoy the vocals, I think some kind of dub edit would make the track work wonders. Not completely taking them out, but stripping them back a little and making it a background tool as opposed to the driving force of the track.
I still bought it though :o |

| Liking all three of these a whole lot. Lincoln Roads probably my favorite, love that bassline. |
