I'm doing a 500 page report on the life, times, themes, psychology and physiology of hip hop, but am currently stuck on page 413, which is trying to piece together the ambiguity as to how it died.
I went on google and apparently, some people are linking it to my second cousin, Eli Porter, who had flow so bad, it destroyed the video technical feed at the local programming station where he was being filmed here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BxYRRZz7xQ

Now, I already have several theses lined up, which I'm trying to narrow down:

it all stemed from too many white fans of Public Enemy ( they used to be freaked out by the fact it was mostly white niggas at their concerts ) which had an "elevated" state of conscience ( debatable ) and when they faded out ... jew drama etc ... then came in ... gangsta rap.

from gangsta came violent thought, loss of thought provoked lyrical flow, and ideas of toking up, partying getting groovy all came into play. Because of increased popularity, commercial recuperation, when the gang wars eventually toned down, the party vibe had to keep going.
And here comes into play what we know today as Club Hip hop. Tunes designed to party in clubs sipping bacardi. If you listen to todays commercial hip hop, played outside of the club sphere it loses all it's relevance.
Lack of bass ( which people are bringing into their cars cause you can't have todays tune without the boom ), lack of crowd flow.

Everyone loves a good time, looking at musical history in the last 100 years be it from broadway tunes to jazz to soul to hippie fest to rap popular music has always been focused around having a good time( in form or thought ).

the hundreds of rappers with the beginning of their name "Lil'" or "Young" killed hip-hop. You could also include Puff Daddy in the mix as well.
