On most days when I go downtown in the summer, I bike. It takes about the same amount of time, but it's just so much more fun.

How is it that a the public charter of the city of Toronto can negotiate with a public union regarding public services - but they refuse to publish the entire details of the agreement until ratification?

I want to know what the agreement is before the unions vote to accept it. If the city has not negotiated in the best interest of the rate-payer then the rate-payers should have a chance to respond well before ratification.

At this point, I'd rather walk to work for a week and have all the unionists fired and replaced.

I think that is the only reason I miss living farther away from work. I used to live in East York and would bike downtown.

Luckily they reached tentative agreement. On the downside, I was going to host a friend during the strike and was looking forward to that :toothless

I'm kind of disappointed there was no strike, I was getting set up in a hotel on the company's dime...next time, I guess.
