Yeah, I thought the same thing. I guess Santoro (Amphitheater) is basically doing shows @ Green Iguana from time to time...lights and sound should be good. I'll be there to check it out.

| Wow, 3 garbage DJs, two of which we've had here in the last year. |

Really?? 3 garbage dj's??? Different strokes for different folks I guess, but I gotta believe all 3 of these shows will be a blast....I have an idea for you, sit home and rub one out by yourself at your computer on these evenings...I'm sure it would be a bit more fun for ya champ!

ok lets break this down :
Tommie Sunshine / Junkie XL - Both have a sick distinct sound and rock it with their productions every time they play. People will go to see these two.
Benny Benassi - Hate all you want but everyone has used a BB production one way or another. BB changed the sound of house and at EVERY party, you see flocks of hot south american women singing the same hooks to their songs. in my book, thats not bad at all :)
Ferry Corsten - His form of trance may not be your cup of tea but if he sucked so bad, i don't see why his radio show, Ultra appearances, cd sales, label work, track productions, and NAME attracts so many people.
The scene may be different up there than down here but this happens in miami regardless of all the sick talent we are exposed to weekly. Tampa, being a place that only gets a portion of what comes down to miami constantly..will have a great time with these dj's. I wish i lived up there to check out Tommie Sunshine and Junkie XL actually :(

There's actually four DJ's in that list. What does it matter that they were here in the last year??
I agree with Kevin and Eyekon in that all 3 of these shows will have a great vibe and be a good time...
I hope Tommie is on the bill for Orlando 5/24 |

Better than paying money to watch a couple guys fail @ beatmatching the BP Top 10. |

Alright, Benassi lays down, I'll give you that.
Ferry fell off when he got popular, how many times can you hear 'fire' live, really?
Junkie XL I won't even begin talking about. Popular garbage again.
Green Iguana plays top-40 and you can expect a top-40 crowd there. I'm guessing the system and setup is too, but I have not been to that location.
Kevin, where were you for Laurent Garnier, Lee Burridge, Three, Crazy Larry, Jimmy van M, etc? When real DJs come around the threads go dead. Then the fanboys flock to the Ferry threads. It's the same thing every time. |

Unfortunately, there's a lot of truth to this statement. Marketing, hype, idolization & the overall accessibility of todays 'Electro-House', Brings even the Top40 kiddies out to dance to said world famous DJ's.
A person still needs to dig a little bit to realize there's a lot more out there than Guetta's remix of "Who's Your Daddy?". Sadly, most want things spoon fed to them, so they take what they are given. |

Excellent point Chris.
I understand we all go through phases. I started listening to PvD and Tiesto, and honestly, it worked for a while. But it's not hard to deduce that these guys are there for the money, popularity, and to sell records.
At least get out there and try some new names. I guarantee you'll find a few things... cheaper nights overall, a better fan base, and most importantly, better music. |
