Movement 08: Detroit's Electronic Music Festival brings back the music with an
increased level of production, the Red Bull Music Academy and MySpace.
Detroit - May 24, 25 and 26th will bring Detroit alive with sounds from Movement 08:
Detroit's Electronic Music Festival in Hart Plaza with the Red Bull Music Academy, MySpace
promotion and a higher level of production. Movement 08 also announces discounted tickets
on sale now.
The Red Bull Music Academy will join Movement 08 by producing a stage that reflects a broad
range of musical talent from around the world. The Red Bull Music Academy Stage will replace
the Pyramid Stage and include performances by: Newcleus, Egyptian Lover, Shawn Michaels,
James Zabiela, Benny Bennassi, The Cool Kids,Girl Talk, DATABASS (featuring Godfather), Justin
Kruse, Tech Itch and Dieselboy.
Also joining this year as a media partner is the vastly popular, global online social networking site
MySpace. Having grown over the previous years to become the largest online social network,
MySpace is utilized by many artists and fans to connect and keep in touch with each other, adding
an intimate element to the usual marketing channels. MySpace's interest in working with the Movement
Festival validates an already well known fact - Detroit's Electronic Music Festival is an event that is
continuing to grow and attract attention on a worldwide scale.
"After the last two years of progress and reviews the festival is getting some well deserved attention,"
notes festival director Jason Huvaere, "there will be no question what's happening in Detroit on Memorial
Day weekend."
In addition, this year's event will increase the level of production regarding sound at the main stage and
weather structures to protect attendees. Movement 08 will also bring back the underground stage, where
Paxahau's involvement in the festival began. "We have taken great measures to bring the production to an
even higher level," says Mike Fotias, Movement Production Manager, "We understand that attendees come
here expecting nothing but the best and we are determined to deliver."
With Movement 08 quickly approaching, all information, including discount pre-sale tickets, is available now at

MOVEMENT 2008 DETROIT ELECTRONIC MUSIC FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES
BEATPORT STAGE LINEUP
Detroit- Paxahau, producers of MOVEMENT 2008 announce the line-up of artists
set to appear on the Beatport Stage. This year’s diverse and eclectic Beatport
Stage roster showcases established electronic acts and vanguard artists who
exemplify the event’s global fan appeal, confirming the Detroit festival as a
destination for the international techno circuit.
“The Beatport Stage hosts the premier artists that give the festival its global appeal”,
stated Jason Huvaere, festival director, “We are excited that Beatport has partnered
with us for a third year – this year, the line-up and the stage’s new sound technology
will further intensify the festival experience.”
Beatport is a US-based online music store recognized as the internet’s leading source
for electronic music downloads. Beatport features more that 6500 labels and the site
adds thousands of new tracks weekly and offers new releases, classic and exclusive
tracks all categorized by genres such as house, trance and techno.
“MOVEMENT is one of only four electronic music events in which Beatport chooses to
participate,” Shawn Sabo, Beatport director of public relations and marketing explained.
“The Beatport Stage at Movement allows us to do what we do best – cater to the
tastes of the global electronic music scene by hosting top artists in genres both
recognized and emerging.”
Providing the audience with the best listening and dancing experience, a new vinyl roof and
metal structures replace old tents insuring a strong foundation which allows enough support
to hold the sound and lighting systems. The new structures give more space, better sight
lines, and hold for all weather conditions.
Some of the performances will include: Beatport’s number one selling artist, Deadmau5; a highly
anticipated tenth anniversary set with Richie Hawtin and Minus; Dubfire, half of the 2001 Grammy
award winning group, Deep Dish, nominated for best remixed recording, non-classical track
preformed by Dido. Also joining the Beatport stage are Tycho and Par Grindvik, two up and
coming artists from Ghostly International.

about Glacéau
It all started when one thirsty man named darius wanted better water, but couldn't find any
worth drinking, so he decided to make his own. Along came a guy from queens named Mike
(he’s like Darius’ Robin… but don’t tell him that) and because mike has a gift for the gab, it’s
no wonder word got around, thus emerged Glacéau, a fresh new approach to bottled water.
Today glacéau, the leader of the enhanced water category, is the maker of Vitamin Water,
smartwater® and vitaminenergy™. Now with 750+ full and part-time employees, (that’s a
big holiday party) Glacéau is all about helping thirsty people like you hydrate responsibly with
something truly good for your body. For more information visit www.glaceau.com.
