A couple quick questions

| I have been mixing trance for a little over a year. I taught myself, as many of you have. I was wondering how you normally make a transistion. I usually line up the beats (duh) and mess with the EQ until it isn't clashing, then mix for 32 beats or so. What other techniques do you use? Sometimes I mix through breakdowns, so the set isn't all bass. Just looking for suggestions, tips, and tricks. Thanks! |

i see this kind of questions more and more...
for me it doesn't work this way,i don't have a standard way of mixing 2 records.
every transition is a creative one and done without thinking about it.
It's more about the natural feeling imo... |

| Having said that, I've never tried mixing between breakdowns before. How can you mix something that doesn't have any sort of a beat? |

Even during the breakdown there is a beat. You just have to tap your foot. Usually to mix in a breakdown, both tracks are airy and somewhat ambient sounding. Just blend them together and you get one big break that transistions itself into the next song.
Thanks for the help guys. I know mixing is a personal and creative thing, but I just wanted to see what kind of tricks you are all personally creating. :D |
