hey guys i just got the the new version of reason and i'm having a hell of a time trying to figure out this new sequencer. i'm trying to work on songs i had from older version but just doing things like copying and pasting is a huge pain in the ass. i can't figure out how to just copy 1 measure with having to redo everything. i hate how all my midi data has been put into groups. i was wondering how long it took most of you to get back into the groove and quick pace of producing with this new program?.
also i was wondering if there is a way to use teh reason 3 sequencer but with all the new synths and effects, you get what i meen?. |

| Just learn it. You'll like it more than the previous sequencer after you've mastered it. It's probably the most flexible sequencer I've ever used, too bad it can't send midi out. |

I agree, but what's annoying is that you can only focus on one clip at a time. Doing mass editing is a pain in the ass. :( |

I to found the same but like everything else just read up on what you need to know and keep at it you'll pick it up in a few weeks at most depending on how much time you spend on it.
Eldritch - was that a feature in V3? |

Yes, you could edit all clips of a track at the same time. |

Ah yeah i think i know what you mean. In edit mode when editing a clip, in V4 the other clips are greyed out as such so you cant edit those unless you double click it, is that what you mean? |

That does annoy me also. I find sometimes I have to have my clips larger so I can do more editing to more notes.
There must be a work around or a way to do this like in V3 |

| yeah i guess i just need more time at it. i was hoping i would be able to sit down and pick it up within a few hours. no such luck.. so far all the editing i'm doing seems to take way longer. oh well  i'm learning |

To be honest it probably could be done in a few hours. As long as you know why things are working different its not too hard. I just used it and figured it out along the way which I guess took longer than, if I read and found out why things the way they were.
The main thing to understand is that you have to have all the edits in groups before you can do anyway, then theres the automation. If you manually edit these after recording and you need to add more automation, the clip needs to be extended.
This could work; if you dont do much recording and just draw in your midi motes. You could creat on large clip for each track, then you can do what you like in there, i guess you could record in there to but it could get messy. That make sense guys? Or am I just talking nonsense? |

| U just need to use the razor tool to cut your clips, or just highlight a whole bunch of clips and then right click and 'join'. |

over at reasonstation the whole board was like this for a week or so.
then it died. it only takes a week or two to nail it. |
