Great advice..

Hope it went well for you!

The spinning of the tunes, not the act of ting. ;)
Mr.Mystery
I certainly hope the ting went well too.

it went well, both the pre-poop and the spinning
1. the poop was a phantom, hence quick and clean.
2. the spinning was dirty, just the way i like it. :)
I got a bunch of compliments, and some free drinks, only negative aspect of the night was some random skank i go to school with telling me she doesnt like me, so i pointed to the door.
cheers for the support guys :)

Don't drink too much. A couple of beers will help you get more relaxed and in the mood but anything over that will be a disaster.

unless it's a house party

i was trashed by the time i came on for my 2nd set at 8 am and it was so much better, even if it really wasn't.

The best three lines I've heard while spinning in a club were the following...

1) DO YOU HAVE ANY RAP?

2) SO... LIKE... IS IT ALL JUST ONE SONG?

and my favorite...

3) DO YOU HAVE SONGS WITH WORDS IN THEM?

haha yeah i've received all of those. actually last weekend i got all three of those

i must be an because i really enjoy telling people just a matter-of-fact "NO"

some people come up to me and ask me to play x deep dish song or something, and I have to give them a tiny bit more respect so I just say "sorry, don't worry about making requests tonight"

Best excuse ever that me and my friend use: "Someone stole my Rap/insert genre here CD case! Sorry!"

And if they ask you to play their CDs, just say you don't like playing music you aren't familiar with.

I did have some guy come up twice and ask me to play some hip hop, and then some rock band... and another guy i didnt even know took pics of the cdj's i was using, i think he was mesmerized by the centre piece whirring around and around.
I also had another random person cheering me on beside the dj booth, at least the support was nice haha.
it gets interesting when you're in that booth eh?
