Am I the only person who thinks the situation has REALLY gotten out of control?
Okay, so you want to do a quick chat while your sitting in class. Fine. Or, you don't want to risk having a long conversation, so you just quickly say the words 'wanna hang out' and bam your done. Fine.
But this bull of 'sit at a party, don't talk to anyone and just sit in the corner and text, and text, and TEXT some more' has realllllllly annoyed me. Have people forgotten how to respect the people they are actually WITH rather than having inane and pointless conversations with their other friends? Hell, some of these text convos go on for so long that you wonder why the they just don't call each other and save themselves the finger strength.
It just seems like everyone is doing it. I'm having a conversation with my roommate, and mid-convo, he busts out his phone and has a text convo. I find that to be ridiculous, and he is nowhere near the only one doing it. I text occasionally, but I don't have unlimited so I dont do it at the rate of some of these people out there. I don't think Ill ever get unlimited, either, because I dont want to end up like one of these boring s that get bored and instantly need attention.

| my phone is always my last priority. if i'm talking to someone in real life, in a line for something, listening to a song i like, or anything along those lines, then whoever's on the phone can ing wait. it's my time, im' not gonna drop everything just cause someone's calling me. |

It's not the texting itself so much as the way people have made themselves obligated to their phones...as if every phone call/text HAS to be answered NOW. I can't even go to dinner with some friends without them yakking on the phone throughout. It's just plain rude, man.
edit: Yeah Mez gets it. |
