Although I haven't been able to connect to the multiplayer yet. It keeps telling me I have to sign into the PSN, but I am pretty sure I already was. I haven't noticed anyone else mentioning the same problem so it probably is on my end.

I don't own a 360 or a PS3, but I'm really tempted to get one just to play this game.

my 60gb ps3 isn't turning on at all now. there is no red light, green light or anything. i triple-checked to make sure the power switch in the back was on and it was. also checked the power cable to make sure it was securely plugged into the back of the ps3 and the wall outlet and replugged them in. i figured maybe it was overheating or something so i tried a half hour later, still no luck so i went to bed. woke up this morning and its still not turning on. tried different plug outlets and different power cables but still no response. really disappointing. i'm probably gonna have to send it in to sony to get repaired and pay them $149.
i'm not really sure if gta4 is responsible/partially responsible but it does seem rather odd that this occurs when the gta4 freezes have been a big issue for a lot of ps3s (which is odd because gta4 never froze on me). i haven't done anything stupid like turning off the ps3 while the hdd is accessed, so i'm not really sure what caused the problem.

Weird...PS3s are built like tanks. Call them up...they'll replace it for free in most cases. Sony has some great customer service.

i doubt it. ps3s only have 1 year warranties and i purchased this over a year ago :( i'm going to call them tomorrow. i guess this gives me a reason to hook up my ps2 again and finish a few rpgs i never got through completely

You sure you don't mean XBOX360?
I don't own either but the PS3 seems to be more problem ridden amongst the people I know.

I'm always the first to defend the 360 - but it is built like an absolute piece of .
Sony and Nintendo both have systems that are actually built like tanks and can take boatloads of abuse.

MS and Sony flip-flopped from generation to generation; whereas the Xbox was the tank last time around and the PS2 was a piece of trash, the opposite is true with the 360 and PS3 respectively. Probably has to do with MS rushing the 360 to be first in the next-gen war and Sony learning from the boatloads of complaints regarding the PS2's disc read error problems.

Whew, that sucks some serious ass, man. Nothing worse then getting a game, only to not have a system to play it on.
My 360 AND PS3 have both worked flawlessly since Day 1. Got my 3-6 back in June of....2006 I believe, and the PS3 January of 07. Hopefully my lucky streak continues.
