SATURDAY.MAY.3RD.2008: GLOBAL MARIJUANA MARCH @ QUEEN'S PARK
Come join 15,000 of the happiest, hungriest cannabis consumers in a peaceful event celebrating cannabis and cannabis culture as they parade down beautiful downtown Toronto on the first Saturday of May!
Why attend the event?
*It's the only day of the year whereon the laws against possessing marijuana are not enforced
*It's a chance to enjoy a full day of toking, protesting, eating, dancing, buying accessories (e.g. pipes), visiting vendors (e.g. compassion centres), and socializing with thousands of other liberal-minded people
*It will feature the sounds of a bunch of Toronto's best local house DJs
*Most importantly, it will provide you with an opportunity to show your support for the call to remove criminal penalties for the possession of cannabis--something which both the Canadian Senate and House of Commons have explicitly recommended!
My suggestion: go down on Saturday, get blazed out of your mind, spend hours playing hacky sack, and dance outdoors to some dirty beats; but before you get yourself in the clouds (or after if you're still able to think and speak coherently when high (not me haha)) make sure you talk to those around you--especially the media (if possible)--regarding your views about the dangers of our current system of prohibition and the need to reform our laws.
I hope to see some familiar faces this weekend!
