Well, I have been avoiding taking my breaks today, lol. I don't wanna go downstairs and see other smokers and stuff. I'm not really craving a cigarette *yet*, but I'm so used to smoking after eating lunch, and on my drive home from work.
Someone gave me a peice of those Nicotine gums a while ago, and it made me sick. I think it gave me more nicotine than I usually get with one ciggarette lol
I guess the best thing I can do is have more will power, and maybe chew regular gum, or buy some lollipops.
I REALLY want to quit and get in shape again. |

Someone told me once: "It takes 40 days to break or to start a habit". Stop drinking soda for 40 days then you'll stop your craving for soda, start smoking weed for 40 days then you'll crave for some after the 40th day...

| I smoked a pack a day for at around 5 years. When I quit lollypops worked like magic. I basically had one at all times. Not those little ones you get at the doctor's office but something like blow pops or tootsie pops that take some time to finish. I quite strong for about a year or so. Things got stressful and I picked them up again. They come back from time to time now for a week or 2 then I don't touch for a few months. Now it's just will power when I stopped. But that first time quitting, lollypops saved my life. but if you only smoke a pack a week you shouldn't have much trouble. If you're not even craving one right now...you should be fine. |

| I never took up smoking, but if you're so stressed, try taking a walk, breathing exercises, stretching, or go outside and read a book instead. I do this all the time and it helps me so much! It's even a great alternative to caffeine. :) |

| the patch is for wimps. just exercise or keep busy and after 1 week should be no problem to quit. you should still get urges but they go away in like 5 minutes. since you only smoke a pack a week, you pretty much aren't even addicted to the nicotine, just the act of smoking, the oral fixation. |

No, Xanax is for anxiety or panic attacks. It blocks the area of your brain that makes you give a F***.
It's good for helping you sleep on long plane rides. |

I agree with substituting an activity when the craving hits. Also prove to yourself that you can do tasks without a smoke in your hand (like the recent TV ads).
And when all else fails, break out the vibrator...works for me!

if u want to stop smoking, do what i accidentally did like 8 years ago.
One day, just chain smoke through an entire pack of marlboro reds until you throw up, they will never taste good again and then you can convince yourself that you are alurgic. It worked for me and i havent smoked in years, and when i did it was when i was drunk or something and it tasted gross.
Also, try sunflower seeds or biting your fingernails. :D |
