Claude von Stroke Spinning in San Diego Tonight

Just came to my attention that Claude von Stroke, Barry Weaver are spinning at Universal (the club that just opened up in Hillcrest) tonight.
Good news since I was going to try to squeeze in both Mark Knight and Claude Sat in LA, but now I don't have to :happy2: |

| I was having dinner by Universal last Saturday night and walked by. Looked like a pretty nice place. Kinda of a upscale PB looking crowd. |

anyone know if its a gay club?? i looked at the website for universal and there seemed to be some things on there that point towards it being a hillcrest sort of club....
just trying to be in the right mindset heading over there :toothless |

It is a club that tries to cater to everybody. I would imagine certain nights have certain themes.
Like I posted before I went by last Saturday and it looked like a 50/50 split between girls & guys. Appeared pretty hetero.

| just got back from universal and CVS in killed it!! i've never seen tech house go down so well in san diego. the whole crowd was amped and he was throwing down some dirrrrty tracks. everyone was clapping out the very last song after a security guy told claude he had to kill it. i was very impressed by how much fun it was. wish the sound coulda been a bit louder, but hopefully that'll happen if they keep bringin talent. props to universal :D |

Clean sound, great vibe, mixed crowd, decent priced drinks (surprising), it went off last night.
CVS threw down an amazing set! Judging by the amount of love he got once the sound turned off, everyone seemed equally impressed.
Props to Barry Weaver and his tag team partner for an great opening set. Got the place rocking early. |

The outside area is really nice w/ its own bar, seating, fire pit. The place has good style.
Only complaint I have is w/ the sound system. Although it's good clean sound, it sounds less then full and slightly muddled on the dancefloor. The bass is weak too, but all in all it sounds pretty good. |
