hey guys,

i'm kinda new in the trance music scene. anyway, i already know the popular dj's and all that, but i have to admit, i don't know most of the dj's! maybe that's cos i only took interest in trance last year :>
anyway, no one i know likes trance... so which dj's suck and which don't? just so i know what cd's i should buy without wasting any of my money.

dont waste your time buying Cds....download mp3s..and check for you self what tunes you like and dont like....never take anyones opinion cuz Trance is broad some of us like this kinda of trance some dont..and vise versa.... so just download new tunes..and check for you self what and who you like!!!

at the end of the year 200 the annual poll was taken to see what the publics favourite DJ was. in europe clubbers were asked to name there top 5 DJ's. No1 was Sasha No2 was Paul oakenfold (after 2 years at 1) and No3 was Digweed. now thats the average trance addicts preference - of course then u have to go through all the others. i reccommend that u do what was suggested above and DL mp3's - i have over 11GB of mp3's now (all trance) and i can easily burn em to CD

i agree what was said above. I'm very picky. I would say about 80% is only good 4 dancing. Most techno doesnt have much of a melody (which makes it not memorable) and is very simplistic (makes it boring) or melody is to cheesey (making it annoying on more than 1 listen). And about 10% is exceptional, i can listen to it over and over, i can dance to it or listen to it at home.

Some of the best techno takes a couple listens to appreciate. But like they said everyone has their own tastes. u need to figure out for ur self what u like. just cause its popular doesnt mean its good. A lot of big name dj get away with puting out mediocre , in my humble opinion(i know im gona get 4 saying this).

ferry corsten is pretty good too. PVD is my favorite though, but i also like jungle and (okay dont hate me people) hardcore so if your interested i could let you know some good djs for that too. but youre probably not. and live sets are sooooo much better than most mixed cds. so try and work up a collection! good luck:) and welcome to addiction!

yeah i agree with that. but generally speaking, i think most of the big name artists are pretty damn good at what they do. but of course it varies from person to person.

my personal favs are pvd, buuren, tiesto, and vdm.

and yeah, she's right, the live sets are what make the djs shinnnne. if you're on a fast connection ibiza, download the live sets by these artists an have a listen. you might like em you might not. :) and even if you're not, download some of it and take a listen just to get a taste.

peace out-sidddde!

ok ok here you go...
i posted this a while back when i was in a tranceaddict in training...well..im always gonna be in training, constantly (infinity is my mentor...lol) learning new things...my advise, download download and more downloading. go to audio galaxy, make a list of many of songs, downloading is easier and cheaper, you can get the tites and tracklistings off of sites like...well if i was on my own computer id tell ya...help me out guys...lol...ok ok so heres the thread..
go with what you like, don't just get the exact tracks people say, get them and more thats how you grow and develope your own sense of what trance feels like to you...because it is a feeling, not just heard in your mind, touches your soul.

i gained much by this here post.

When you say this, this is obviously only in England, cause I know for sure that the TA's won't choose Sasha on #1, that's for sure.

I think when you talk about all the TA's here, DJ Tiesto, PvD and Mauro Picotto are the most populair.

james holden and john digweed...
