For tracks that are categorically 'good,' and not simply tolerable and passively pleasant, I'd say four out of ten for me.

If you buy every album with only 4 (good) out of ten tracks, you'll end up with thousands of bad to mediocre cds...

Wait...unless...you download...

EDIT: Or Sigur Ros, or Hammock, or Port-Royal, or Lights out Asia, or Caspian, or Explosions in the Sky, or Godspeed You Black Emperor!, or Arms and Sleepers, or Ef, or Maps, or This Will Destroy You, or...

I wrote that assuming we're talking about Dance music artist albums, and in that respect, perhaps my expectations have become low enough (from most of the one's I own, at least) such that four good tracks is enough to receive a passing grade from me.

But it's also worth mentioning that a mere collection of good songs doesn't translate into a good album. I can burn a CD with a variety of good tracks, it doesn't mean they're going to sound good together or fit well within the album as a whole.

Oooo.. touch.

I do..

And how am I supposed to know an album is good or not without actually purchasing it before and listening it later? By looking at the cover? I download.. and when I like it.. I purchase it.

And if I had to purchase everytime, I will:

Yeah, great ing music these guys make, indifferent of the name. Perhaps they should have gotten their right from the beginning instead. :p Another favorite of mine is "East Hastings" which is the track that plays at the beginning of "28 Days Later" and is on "f#a#". I came to know them through this track. Simply awesome ;)

Depends on what the "not good" tracks are like, depends on how good the "good" tracks are, depends on how they all fit together.
