What were your first pair of decks?
I had gemini XL-500's Craaaaaaapppppp.
What was teh first record you played from it. Mine was Cypress Hill - Tequila Sunrise

I used to be really into Hiphop. Now not as much. But I remember I bought these decks in Brooklyn and we smuggled them back to europe. I PLayed Tequila in the hotel room in NY. I was already scrathin. No amp no phones just the noise of the needle tochin the groove. To see where I have come since then Is incredible. That was back in spring 99.
Now I have Technics and probably will get a third now I have money again.

Technics sl-d2 Direct drive pitch control not torquey like a 1200 though but played for years (made in japan) still got it its automatic arm return good for throwing new vinyl on when your just listening not mixing. Got a stanton 500alII in it. Moved on to 1200s now. First record spun would have been Robert Miles - Children many years ago.
PS anyone know where the tilt remix of the track can be downloaded. Heard it in the Armin set. Highly recomended |

| First decks was 1200s, however I used an AKAI AP-Q41 Direct Drive home audio turntable to listen to tracks I had bought before I could afford DJ decks :> First mixer was and still is a Numark DM1001X .. first track I ever put on my 1200s was the original Milli Vanilli album on vinyl ;) haahah :P |
