| no idea who came before him but I caught a lot of Nikola's set and liked it for the most part. met up with some friends and spent a lot of time by the UNIMOG, took a walk around the faire in an unsuccessful attempt to find acid (where the hell is the stuff these days? isn't this san francisco?), after the faire went to temple for a while and left early cause we weren't really feeling the music downstairs, it was even worse upstairs, and we got tired before it got better. |

guy before nikola sucked... so i went over to extreme pizza and got a slice :p bumped into shawn yapa and got back in time for the last 15mins of nikola which was good. not sure if he was tag teaming with alland but he was good too. ended up at Tantra which had some good psy trance even with the DJ messing up/having bad CDJs :p Went into Stephs where Ish got hammered, he starting singing along to some the 80s track that was playing :stongue: and bumped into some cute LA asian girls :happy2:
ok crashing... work in a few hours :whip:  :( |

i spent most of the day at the tantra stage. loved it when it hit 150 bpm. i really need to find more of these psy/goa events in the bay area... but i think that would require me hanging with the burning man crowd a bit more. and yeah, the older dj that finished up kind of ruined the last hour... first by slowing it down from 150, his equipment crapping out, and just bad mixing. anyways, always nice to see the psy/goa trance stage being the busiest. but i think i like the old location better where no office buildings = less shade = more sun!
the kontrol crew's stage was alright with its minimal/techno stuff, but i left when whoever played deadmau5. baytala was solid as usual. the drum and bass stage also had a couple good acts.
and it was "don't stop believing" that ish was singing/yelling out at the bar. |

Hey did anyone catch the first stage when you walk in on 2nd Street (like if you're going from Mission to Howard) around 5:20? They played some version of a Johnny Cash song (Walk the Line I think), does anyone know the song/remix? I've had it in my head all day!
Thanks! |

yeah, i remember that. it was a very intriguing intro, but i don't remember much of the actual song. looking at the schedule looks like the dj playing was 'tim tryptamine', maybe find him and email. |
