Cheaper and better for the environment that idiot Americans driving F250's, Hummers and Cadillacs, yes. Not that good though!

My car (Golf GTi) costs about $75 per tank.

6-7L/100km on freeway though. :)

It's surprisingly economical on the open road (9.5L per 100km), just around town stomping it will make Panda's explode and kill hippy children quicker than you can say 'Dole is cancelled'

:wtf:

the De Lorean running on garbage - this thing runs on thin air!

:wtf:

That's incredible.

edit: the power-collecting system by vehicle traffic:

That's damn smart, I'm surprised that's never been thought of. Would be very hard to implement though, the ground is already riddled with power and sewerage lines, and digging 100,000 new holes would be tough.

Once the oil runs out the world as we know it will come to an end. There will be chaos, 300 million useless hunks of metal called "cars". Millions of people not able to get to work on time if at all. Its not just cars that run on oil, but aircraft as well. And im pretty sure there arent any electric planes.

I'm pretty sure those cars were just concept cars, and were never meant to be mass manufactured/sold to the public. At least this is what I learned from the automotive students in my liberal studies course.

that electricity comes from somewhere and its usually a cheap coal burning power plant, which may be far less environmentally friendly than the average honda.

That's why we should use nuclear power.

Wind power sucks.

Nuclear is the future.

Oil isn't going to just suddenly run out.

Like any other non-renewable resource, production will gradually decrease until prices become too high for its use to be feasible anymore. As this happens, other sources of energy will start to look more feasible, spurring development of them.

Some of the electric cars that were produced in the past were invented just to shut the hippies up.

I learned that while watching Ironman.:gsmile:
