hi ppl, sorry if this is an easy question but im abit confused
right i know kicks, snare and base needs to be mono, so im setting cubase up as mono track for each of these sounds, brill.
when i go to bounced down the tracks should i also be selecting the mono option in audio mixdown or the stereo interleaved? when i do mix down to mono, the waveforms after the bounce look like there clipping bigtime!
please feel free to rip me or my family, im fine with that :) |

Uh.. if your track has stereo elements and you'd like it to be stereo afterwards, then mixdown in stereo. |

So you're bouncing down the individual tracks or the overall song?
If individual tracks, bounce down in mono. Are the tracks in the red before bouncing down? If not, are you only looking at the waveforms or are you listening to what it sounds like? Depending on the view resolution, the visual may not give you an accurate representation. Zoom right in and check if the waveforms have been squared off/ clipped. If so, reduce the track's volume and re-export.
If you're exporting the overall song, you'll want it in stereo if you have stereo tracks or effects, as Chronosis said. |

If you have left and right channels of audio both at 0db and mix them down into a single mono channel, you'll end up clipping in many programs, since both channels are already at 0dB and then they get added together. You just have to put the stereo channels at an appropriate volume before mixing them down to mono; if the volume on the resulting mono track is too low, you can always just raise it in the final mix. |

Easiest way is to simply put a stereo expander on it, and set that to 0% |
