I need to know the rate at which things are percieved to get bigger or smaller over distance. Eg. "80% smaller per meter".

If anyone can help me out, that would be fantastic! :)
Google has failed me thus far.

What's 100%? When you're so close that your eyeball is touching the thing?

no... i mean "80% relative to position x". eg. if you move backward a meter, it will look 20% smaller. i assume it is linear, i can't see how it wouldn't be.

OMG UR AVATAR WAS IN MY DREAMS! I just woke from these weird dreams where I was one of the Care Bears and there were a bunch of other ones and we were rap battling with house music in the background and the lyrics were like "I sunk your battleship [unce][unce][unce][unce] I gave you AIDS [unce][unce]unce][unce]" and we were throwing pixies dust at each other like they were swords!

Angular diameter?

depends on focal length.

are you talking about the human eye or a camera or what?

if you're talking about a camera, then go set up like 4 sticks in a line equally spaced, take a picture and then measure.

it is of course linear - thus perspective

let's say i had a 60" plasma and i was sitting 3.4m from it. how far would i have to be sitting from a 50" for it to look 60"?
