it's been almost a year since i posted a set here. i started working on this one last fall, and finally completed it at the end of the winter. my original intention with this mix was to program the set on the computer and then spin it live and use it as a promo CD. i never got to that point. there are a few reasons it was never recorded live, but rather than letting it go to waste, i've decided to throw it up and share it with you guys.
as for what to expect - the usual smooth upbeat melodic funky summery emotional girly happy house music.
enjoy. :) |

So I couldn’t find Robs new set on my player this morning so I went with this one since it was next on my list. Honestly I don’t have too much to review on it. It’s a real solid set with no major grips or pain points. The mixing and track selection throughout the set is very good. Its yet another “Flirty” .. “Dancy” .. summer set. I love the set that you put together last summer for the exact same reasons. It was something I normally don’t listen to but on a nice sunny summer day I can put it on and enjoy some quality tunes.
On that note the only recommendation I could make would be to maybe bring it down a up a bit throughout the mix. It was chugging the whole way through with was cool but it would have been nice to see some deeper tracks dropped to chance the tempo. That’s just me though and I’m sure a lot of people will like the fact its chugging. Almost all of the tracks have great synths in them.
I’m a sucker for moody synths and there is plenty to feed off. Overall nice one Myra, it will get some play.
~ Around 35:00 – LOVED the track
~ Around 49:30 – Really dug the mix
~ Around 59:00 – ACE track
~ Around 1 hour – Didn’t really care for the mix that much, seemed kinda forced
.... so basically myra you dont suck at life, unicorns all over the place, and |

Well, since you never comment on my mixes, I figured I'd let the animosity settle and talk about yours.:stongue:
This is not a summer mix. It's a sexy mix. While the first song was playing, I dimmed the lights, lit some candles, and took a nice, hot bubble bath. Then I proceeded to clean my house for the remainder of the mix.
Technically speaking, the mixing seemed good (though I was cleaning so I wasn't glued to every transition) and the track selection/programming was spot on. The only thing that drew my attention was on one transition, there was a noticeable drop in volume when you switched over to the next track. That's about the only "criticism" I can give. Really enjoyed it and plan on jamming it in the 5.0 with my top down low. |
