Yes, something about the tear ducts closing up, I've read it on a few different occasions. |

So this past weekend I witnessed my 6 month old puppy get hit by a car, really tragic.
My girlfriend began bawling as soon as it happend, my sister as soon as I called her, and my mom as soon as she arrived at the vet clinic.
Myself, on the other hand, didn't shed a single tear, even though this puppy meant a lot to me and I am still deeply devastated.
DO I HAVE NO HEART?
Anyone else not cry when they felt they "should" have? | Maybe you realize its just a dog? I mean its not a human being that died. |

When it comes down to it, yes, it was just a dog. I thank god it wasn't my girlfriend, myself, or any homo that died.
But regardless of it's species, emotional attachment always happens when exposed to something a lot. And we were ALWAYS with this puppy. Slept with it, took it to parks, shopping, etc. Can't compare it to a child, but I'd like to. There was a lot of love and nurturing involved.
I believe it's impacted my girlfriend more then me because of several reasons...
1) It was our first joined commitment/responsibility.
2) It kept her company on nights I had to work late.
3) This dog was really something (who's dog isn't?). By far the best pet I've ever had, and he was only six months old. Really intelligent this one, always smiling and energetic too.
He had so much more to experience... |

Sorry about your puppy man, that's a real shame.
Can you confirm or deny if it was a US Marine driving the car? |

i'd probably need therapy and antidepressants if anything happened to my cat. in fact i had a dream last night that someone was sharpening a knife so they could slice him up and cook him, and they were holding the knife up to his neck right before i woke up. i was so freaked out that i cuddled him for a few minutes before i fell back to sleep.
some people are just more sensitive when it comes to animals. i've cried every time i've ever lost a pet. |

lol, no, not a marine. It was some punk high schoolers that just came from a party three houses down. They were under the influence, most likely.
They had a good 3 seconds to stop before hitting my puppy, but went right a long instead. Didn't even slow down or stop after either, just took off. I take this as murder, instead of an accident.
I went to the owners house after and he said he didn't know of anyone with the car we described. He was drunk too, wasn't much help. Parents contributing to underage drinking/driving ftl...
I'm stopping by the high school today to see if we can find the car. No violence of course, not going to pick on kids. Just want an explantion and some sort of remorse... |

I guess so... but i mean i had a dog for 2 years, enjoyed him so much, but then had to give him away. It was just a dog so wtvr. I guess i treated him like a dog though. I didnt baby talk to him or let him in my room and what not. Sometimes when it rained i did becuase he would howl if you left him by himself and i coiuldnt sleep. |

| You're probably repressing your emotions. Later on when your alone and you think of something that your cat would do you'll cry. Don't worry it will come. |

My joke was a bit nasty, I didn't mean it in a terrible c0r way, just trying to lighten up the moment with some dark humor :)
I hope you find out who did it, animals are innocent, people aren't. |
