trancinchink
yea, the original mk2's all have hinges w/ the dustcover.

Turntable Lab has them. It's about 22 USD for a pair.

They are listed near the end of the Technics section.

Get flight cases. Best investment I’ve ever made.

thanx for the link....blue led set looks interesting too....i also thought about a flight case....they are not cheap though. but yeah, its a good way to keep your equipment secure and free of dust so i think i might get it sooner or later and use it at home as well ..:gsmile:

The only time I’ve had to “use” my flight cases was when I moved house, but I keep my set up in them all the time. Keeps them safe (and doubles up as a desk if you need to put something on top, lol). They might be expensive, but they really are WELL worth the money. You'll sooner pay for a flightcase than have to get a tone arm replaced!

You can order all the parts direct from Panasonic through their website as well. Make sure you search for sl1200mk2 if you have old mk2s ...the parts list is strikingly different than the one for the m3d (and I assume mk5) which comes up on a search for the SL1200.

thanx,
i actually started thinking about the flightcases more seriously ....is there something what makes some better than the others? or is there a particular brand of flightcases you'd recommend?

I'd make sure they are ATA approved. I think it's ATA... right ?

andree
this is probably a really dumm question but i must ask....whats ATA?

I actually like the "hinge-less" dust covers. I just thinks it's less of a hassle. You can take off the cover when you want. It isn't in the way.

As for TT cases, I have the new ROAD READY cases where the latches are on top not the center.
