Cubase Drum mapping

Hey guys, 'til now I've always re-wired FL Studio into Cubase SX 3 as I find FL Studio's Step Sequencer to be one of the most easy to use and innovative drum sequencers ever. Because I am so used to this, making the full and complete jump to Cubase has been anything but easy. I recently got Native Instruments Battery 3 which is absolutely amazing. However, when I load the VST into Cubase SX 3, I am not sure of how to map the kit. I am not exactly sure how to assign each .wav sample to its own MIDI port so that each audio track can have its own mixer with the possibility of assigning EQ's, Panoramas, Reverbs, etc. to individual drum samples. Can anyone please offer any help?

When you open Battery it automaticly makes a number of audio channels for each channel inside, where u can see and route in Battery which Cell is assigned to which audio track.

Although, in Battery 3 u can adjust reverb, pan, envelope, filter for each cell you are using, so u dont necessary dont have to use Cubases audio effects on them.

Personally i cant stand Battery, and i import all drums as individual audio files, then i am in complete control over each channel and drum hit at any given time.

Hey thanks a lot for your help. But how do I set up the drum map in Cubase to correspond with the channels?
I think that I would prefer to do it the way that you do it but how do you deal with seeing the actual sound wave and not some sort if distinct point; isn't it excruciating trying to line up the samples?

Feonix I know what type of setup you prefer. Battery may not be your thing. Check out Izotope's iDrum which is similar to the type of interface and setup you were used to in FL.

also fxpansion guru is good. this is what i have used, going from fl to cubase.

Just put the Grid type to Beat or Use Quanitize. Then the samples will line up easily. In addition to clever use of the Alt. and Duplicate key it works like wonder. ive used this method for 3 years now and never looked back.

if you want to see it in action, take a look at this video of Ian Carey, he works the same way as me:
