cool idea, nice bassline
I'd use fx on the support lead synths different, they sound too dry to me |

nice ideas in this one! although I also have to agree with the above poster.. the support leads do sound a little dry.
production it sounds very crisp! The kick and the bass sound nicely separated. eh..
you could try Spinnin' records :p.. they release a lot of progressive stuff.. but commercial stuff as well.. |

i actually sent it out to spinnin' today.. or im not sure if i sent it to the right adress tho..
regarding the bass.. i automated the lower end of the bass to give it a sidechain sound.. i prefer automation over sidechaining since its easier for me when i see exactly what the automation does.. |

| not really deep or tech house or my style, but it's pretty solid |

First thing's first, this is definitely not deep house. Tech house maybe, but tech house is usually more minimal and, well, boring, so maybe I'd call it prog house. :p
OK, so you're going to think I'm being spiteful here, but I swear it has nothing whatsoever to do with your comments: it doesn't sound like there's much bass. Seriously, my foot's on the subwoofer and it's not vibrating at all. I think it's the kick especially that seems to be missing bottom end; it's got lots of punch but not so much bounce. Just what I hear though.
I think you've done a great job of creating a groove out of the swingy percussion and overdriven synth line. However, and this might be because it's just a clip, it gets a little repetitive and doesn't seem to get developed much. Are you going to be adding new material, a hook of some kind maybe? Or is the intent to keep it in more or less the same vein that it's in now?
In summary:
- Drums are great.
- Bassline is pretty good.
- Kick could be a little more beefy.
- Instrumentation is fairly standard, but good and consistent.
- Arrangement is solid, but doesn't really blow me away.
Hope that's helpful for ya!
Cheers,
Aaron

Haha, yeah I dont really know that much about house genres lol... Other than Electro and Fidget.mmmmnomnomnom
I mean, I listen to the tracks, I just dont know what its called lol :P
Regarding the low end, Im currently working on generic multimedia speakers since the guys at the customs decided to look for drugs in my monitors when I got them shipped back from England. They first tried to unscrew the screws, found out they didnt have the right tools, so they used a crowbar instead. YAY!
So yeah, Im not too familiar with these crappy speakers so the low end might be missing a lot.
Regarding the arrangement, I intended this to be more or less a filler track.. Or, a filler+ track if that makes any sense lol :P
Thanks for the comments everyone :D |
