Bloody hell, seven of the eight musical tracks were just awful (the Jamaican entry being the only half decent one).

Couldn't Coca-Cola engage someone like Danny Howells or Luke Fair for a project like this? Those two could bang out an accessible, yet quality track in a heartbeat.

I am sorry to burst your myth like this.. but teaching music and making music is not the same thing.

Took a listen to the track. Don't know if that's all of it, but it actually does sound like Tiesto. Anyone remember "Theme From Norjefell" from the late 90s? "Lethal Industry" or even "Flight 643" from the early part of this decade? How are they different from this? It also sounds a bit like a M.I.K.E. production.

It's Tiesto producing the kind of simple yet anthemic music he's been known for. Maybe you guys were expecting some Kaos Trance instead :p

Its the usual suspects, a few ring leaders and the lemming followers.

RJT's first post derailment is typical of RJT's contribution to the site. Negativity and crying.

I think we should be supporting an EDM DJ getting to the platform of playing for the Olympic Games, an event that millions of people will be watching around the world. It opens the door for EDM growing and we should support that for what it is, and drop the elistist bull for things like this.

Especially you TA's who are DJ's or Producers, Tiesto's mainstream appeal is growing EDM through respectable venues like the Olympic Games. In a way its helping you small fish that probably will never get out of your small pond. Maybe EDM will get big enough for a party to be happening in so many places that someone will sign your ass to a gig regularly. And for the listeners, if EDM continues to grow you will have more choices of EDM venues. Support growth, drop the elitist mentality that is so prevalent in these artist bashing threads.

I like how you say EDM instead of 'trance'

Good for him.

I guess according to Tranceaddict if you make music for anyone in the entertainment industry, like Paul Oakenfold making tracks for Music and videogames, you have sold out.

Tranceaddict rule #20:

A DJ cannot do anything but play in clubs and cannot cross over into anything that is not club or rave related.

you do know that guys like digweed and sasha have made music for outside entertainment and are still well respected within the community? the difference lies in the quality of the music that is being produced

I have the strangest feeling we've gone through all this before...

Being asked to produce a track by the biggest brand on the planet, not a single person on this forum would turn it down...

Listening to the start of this track I thought it had potential but then it just goes into a horrible mess.

Its incredible to think he produced so many great remixes and classic tracks, I havent heard a decent thing from in a good number of years.

1. its just a tune made for a coca cola beijing commercial thingy (wiv special bottles etc.)
2. the tune utter , so how can it be a good way to express "edm"
3. he doesnt actually play at the olympics this time, which u are talking about tho, the tune itself has NOTHING to do with the olympics, the "event that millions people will be watching around the world" u talk about.

Seriously, i wudnt care if the tune actually was nice, but this way he is just being an cheap ass, which also can be heard on that elements of life album...

For example serge devant's one isnt that bad imo
Fable
elements of life album - I quite like that album...but its got nothing on Armin Van Buurens - Imagine Album, I just love the vocals in it.

Although lots say there was to many "Feat" & "Vocals"

I found it perfect, it had a real Armin soul feel about it which i thought had started to become lost.

Regardless of Armin as he is not the topic...Tiesto should do as he feels best regardless of what people say and do it's his career not ours.

If all DJS/Artists did as we all required they would be lost on day one. I don't give a hoot as long as they keep bringing out the music.

As for Tiesto, i think he brought out one fabulous track "Adiago For Strings" Tiesto remix, since then i'm unsure about his music, it leaves me wondering...but not blown away.

I m not sure where he would fit into my top ten DJ list, to be honest.
