I believe it's a combination of her burning out and wanting to have a regular life |

It wás out of the blue. Ok, she was losing alot more games than she used to do so everybody imagined she would take a break or something. No one over here expected her to quit. I didnt either, didnt see it coming. She had always been alot more motivated than Klijsters and i figured she'ld be going on for at least 3-4 more years.
She aint pregnant or anything, well as far as we know... Just burned out, like vern said. |

From what I know is, that she hasn't been playing well since the beginning of this year. Players have been injured for way longer than that and made a comeback, or not a comeback but not simply quitting after a relatively short period of not playing well. I haven't heard anything about Mauresmo for a longer time, but we didn't see her quit.
I've heard that her losing to Safina last week was the last she could take.. |

mentally she probably wasn't there at the start of the year. she begins losing, you lose an edge, and you just tell yourself that's it. |
