I for one will henceforth appreciate domino's pizza this much more, now knowing that the secret ingredient is suffering. |
Argh, haha... you :haha:
Well, I should leave this job soon. Two of my co-workers are gang members (bloods). Hilarious. One literally talks all day about "in' bitches." Don't assume that I used literally incorrectly: he comes in while talking on the phone, works while on the phone, and clocks out on the phone. I wish I could videotape this, it's amazing what comes out of his mouth in front of everyone (he has _NO_ shame). The other one is actually OK.
The thing is, it's not Domino's I hate working for, it's that store I hate working for. I would actually transfer to a better Domino's in a better neighborhood (not for a career, but you know), but staying here would not be good for me. Just a few more paychecks and I'm out of here. It's not like they'll miss me. |

The problem is that we have like 3 phones on busy friday and saturday nights, a handful of people working, and a load of angry customers throughout the entire ing day. This is the reality of domino's behind the scenes, it's the worst of all the food franchises to work for because we handle both deliveries and carryout.
On busy nights your deliveries will take an hour and a half to two hours. Yes, it's true! The "You got 30 minutes" promo is responsible for 95% of our stress. With all the angry women and teenagers calling me, I feel like the world's biggest deadbeat dad.
My manager is a head idiot liar who only wants to screw people over whether you work for him or not. His boss is even ing worse: a loudmouth, spineless coward who asks everyone under him to do the impossible then gets pissed off if they can't.
I only have three co-workers who are tolerable, the rest I either could not give a about or outright hate.
How many more months should I give before I quit, so it doesn't look too bad to future employers? I know nobody expects you to stay at a job for many years in this generation, but what's the acceptable minimum amount of time to spend at one place? Especially a ty part-time place?
They do not pay me enough for this . Even if they did pay more, I'd opt for less pay if it meant less stress. |
quit the job, you're just a number. Harsh, i know...
find your passion...
godspeed. |

Seriously, just quit with no notice. Its a job with a bunch of s. Screw them over...just leave them hanging on a friday/weekend. I dont think any quality job will fault you for bailing out of a crap job. |
That's how I planned to quit. In the middle of our busiest day. That would make it so much sweeter for me. :D

I know, I'm not staying here. I've got better things to do. This period of my life is just a blip when you look at the big picture |

Camp Counselor/Search & Rescue Lifeguard
Find missing swimmers ages 6-14. 180 yards of swimming 8 feet underwarter in 9 breaths. Screw up and 6 year old jimmy won't be meeting his 1st grade teacher. 4 hours of swim instruction from beginners to advance swimmers. 2 hours of guarding. Get around 20 hours of time off a week. One lunch off, one night off (5 hours) one day off (14 hours) a week. Kid pees his bed at night, I have to fix it. Kid gets home sick scared at 4-5am. My problem. Non stop for 8 weeks. I also get fed 1,300 calories a day because I am on the same diet as a 6 year old. I burn about 5-6k calories a day. So I am constantly tired. I earn around 2-5 cents an hour. Other than being a parent or being in the Military I guarentee you can't find a harder more stressfull job for a twenty year old.
Also: No beer/liqour/drugs, soft drinks (other than time off), TV, relaxing, etc |

Your job is only as stressful as you let it be. Just remember: IT'S ONLY PIZZA. People are going to get pissed, 's going to get f'd up, and you are going to deal with idiot co-workers and customers. But at the end of the day, IT'S ONLY PIZZA. If you were saving the world or operating on someone's heart, well yeah, the stress level just might get to you and with good reason.
Also, if things really are that bad, who says you just have to sit back and take it? Be the employee that drives change. Be the guy that makes the show run, even if you aren't the manager. If you can get to that point, at least it will be less stressful for you because things are running your way. |

Maybe try a temp agency.... sometimes they can get you into warehouse work with no experience, which will pay better than Domino's and it will give you something better to put on your resume. Sometimes you will get lucky and impress someone who will want you on board with them.
I go to school, work full time and take care of my kids so I know all about stress... you just got to do something about it. |
