Hip Hop saved my life

This is imo the best hip hop track to come out in '08 by far, the new video is out with Lupe Fiasco feat. Nikki Jean. Lupe takes it back to the origins of hip hop with clever word play and lyrical structure without having to curse and talk about how many hoes he ed and money he's got. I honestly haven't heard a track this well done in years. Great melody and vocal hook done by Nikki. I know it's TA , but I just thought I'd share it.

McDonalds french fries saved my life. True story. My mom tells it to me every time I visit her.

I love Lupe - his whole album is what all hip-hop should be: meaningful, tight lyrics with social relevance.

It's the best hip hop album I've heard this year. He's such a great lyricist, he's as refreshing to the hip hop scene as Nas was when he released his first album. I also loved that dumb it down track where he exposes the state of hip hop today which is mostly trash. The only other good mainstream hip hop album I've heard in '08 was from the roots.

-edit-

I almost forgot about Common and Talib since their albums were considered more "mainstream" since they both appeared on the US billboards, also great artists keeping the real hip hop sound alive.

Wow, that was actually really cool. Good for her.

it's tolerable, i dunno if it's good but it's better than the majority of similar sounding things which make me want to hurt people.

The Roots are great too! Second-best act I've ever seen live for sure. Between Lupe, The Roots, Common, and Talib, good hip hop is still alive and well.
