Artists: Afroboogie & Re-Zone
Tracks: Global Warning & Explore
Label; Younan Music
Catalog: YM030
This time Younan Music makes it way to Dubai where Afroboogie makes his debut with two tracks on this EP. Having already released productions on quality labels such as Twisted and Audio Therapy, Afroboogie joins forces with Russian electro producer Re-Zone on these two releases “Global
Warning” and “Explore”.
Both exploring the deep and dark side of minimal and techno, with influences from Dubfire and those alike. Global Warning has already received early attention from Steve Lawler where he rocked it during a guest appearance at one of the biggest clubs in the world Peppermint Dubai where Afroboogie resides as a weekly resident. This EP is definitely one for the heads…check it!

Sorry Luke, but this is ridiculous... it's not influenced, Global Warming is EXACTLY like Ribcage, but without the intelligence and subtle shifts from Dubfire.
I doubt that Lawler/Dubfire fans will dig a sub-par copy. |

its funny though because dubfire jumped on the minimal bandwagon with "ribcage" and "emissions" on minus..which was awful by the way..because it was/is the popular thing at the moment...not because he wanted to be respected by the underground like he said in interviews. his take on that style of music was really generic in my opinion and if this sounds like a dubfire ripoff im not even going to bother listening. |

Well, I personally disagree. I think Dubfire had an amazing year... I listen to his essential mix regularly, and I really dig his sound.
In about 1 year, he made Ribcage, Roadkill, Emissions, Stop the revolution (rmx), Space Bird (rmx), Spastik (rmx), Diablo (with oliver huntemann), and many more, all HUGE tracks.
Those tracks became huge without being commercial, in fact when Ribcage came out, most didn't even understand it. He made tech-minimal popular.
Sure we can debate on artistic points, or how Spastik is not such a creative remix, but these tracks are very effective on a dancefloor, and with the load of crappy releases I hear in one day, these are far from being awful.
Most Djs raped those releases, playing Ribcage between 2 fkn tribal tracks... Playing Space bird at 1 am in a club... they ed it up big time. They don't understand and they are the ones that generates the anti-dubfire effect.
But when you hear Dubfire play it, you can tell he has profound undertsanding of his style, and made it his own.
And you have to keep in mind that this is from a guy that was in a super famous duo, making lot's of money, with Sharam that plays Party all the time and Let's get Wild...
He pratically said fk this, started from scratch with his Dubfire name. I think that's a major 180 degree from easy money. and indeed a true commitment to music.
Most Top 100 Djs would never do such a thing. |

| dubfire has always been awesome, even when he was playing house. his recent new found love for mind altering substances and hangin with the minus crew is what has changed his sound. plus he is smart and knows what will sell like crazy to all kinds of heads. he was always the darker techier one of the deep dish guys. |

THE QUESTION IS... WILL DUBFIRE PLAY IT?
(had to break up some tension in here) |

| Dubfire is one of my favorite artists personally, I just love his sound, not so much Sharam |
