Live sets.

You know what I love about 'em? When the DJ drops some horribly out of place tune right in the middle of the set (or anywhere else for that matter). It always makes me wonder what was going on in the club at that moment.

Slow day, eh?

lmao.

Sometimes I actually like a mix that's not 'perfect' in live sets just to know that it was live and it wasn't thought out or planned ahead. Iuno maybe it's just me.

Yeah that's what I'm saying, in a poorly articulated fashion.

+ 1. for ex. djs who only bring a certain number of cds to a gig with only a couple tracks on each disc.

what i hate is long sets 5+hr and the first hour sucks.....

i'll always remember when creamer dropped some horribly out of place track during his set at the docks last summer. it's not a bad song but it didn't fit in AT ALL. it is near the end in the 2nd half of the recorded set. brutal! those that were there will know what i'm talking about. i remember standing there in disbelief that he practically ruined the good vibe that was going on in there.

that's piss poor. I always bring my entire collection with me. you never know what you'll need for a gig.

I like it when a very odd/out of place track is dropped in a way that just works. Such as Kelis - Milkshake in one of my favorite sets by Tampopo. Normally, I wouldn't give that song the time of day, but the way he dropps it in / mixes it / plays with it, then carries on with the rest of techno-goodness makes it work.

In another set of his, he also drops in a rather odd accapella/track for a couple of seconds that normally I'd hate, but he just makes it work.
