I have had a BSOD in XP, but it was all related to either a bad piece of hardware, bad driver, or bad install. Otherwise, never had a bsod in XP.

OSX is not better than Windows, it's just because hardly anyone uses it AND it has much more limited use.

http://news.softpedia.com/news/Mac-...hed-82079.shtml

Long story short: A default OSX installation got hacked in 30 minutes. Vista was not hacked until the next day, and only when they were allowed to have third party applications installed on the target PC.

The reason the line of Apple operating systems are deemed more stable is mainly because of the limited hardware configuration possibilities. That does not mean it has been coded well, as indicated above. For someone to gain root access through a web browser alone, in this day and age, is a massive LOL. Apple should feel ashamed. If Microsoft made a PC, you could guarantee it would be more stable than the average. However, in reality, most people are using budget computers with house ECS motherboards. What do you expect?!

Furthermore, I have used Linux on servers and a few desktops for many years. It is highly over rated for desktop use... Infact, I would go as far as saying that I've had more crashes on Linux as a desktop OS than XP. Servers are another matter entirely though...

BTW... I will admit Windows 98 etc. were quite . Windows wasn't really a good platform until 2000. However, neither were any of the other OSs around at the time.

And even 2k wasn't able to be seen in all of it's glory due to not every hardware manufacturer making win2k drivers for it's first 2-3 years of use. I personally used vista in beta, and even with all the bugs, hardware incompatibilities, etc, it ran ing great for the system I have. I was pleasantly surprised. I say all the aero as that is what s the performance. Otherwise, it runs quite well.

Oh and Vista's internationalization support out of the box is phenomenal for a windows os. One of the reasons I wish I had vista.
