If he slowly disappears....I'm gonna be upset:(

I love his track choices...

I would never have heard of some artists like apparat if not for him.
Frenkieee
He spun at Awakenings a few weeks ago. From what I've read his set was very solid.

great track selection, but he sucks at mixing. I hear he retired and now sniffs out truffles full time.:p

...can't ever have a conversation about Holden without that coming up.

005 was a long time ago...live in the present...the 'a little more interesting, but a lot less enjoyable' Holden present! :D

Seriously though, I can't think of a single mix compilation that has done more for a DJ's reputation than Holden's Balance installment.

I rarely see positive remarks regarding his live sets, and it seems most of his post-005 material traveled a little too far off the abstract deep-end for most people's tastes, but he really seemed to cement his status with his Balance mix.

Really fond of this, though:

Very much liking the transition from '51 Poland Street (Extrawelt remix)' into 'Furry Hat'.

EDIT: That IS Extrawelt's remix of 51 Poland Street, isn't it?

balance was amazing, but the reality is studio sets are not live sets.

Yup, he is not the tightest DJ skills-wise, but few DJs have made me travel through sets like he has.

Plus, I do like his music, post-2003 that is, obviously.

His track selection alone makes him one of my favorite djs, regardless of his dodgy mixing.
